All GRAY carbon wheels are handmade from High Modulus Carbon. Each rim is designed to give you maximum aerodynamics and minimum weight, while still retaining incredible structural strength.
Tubular tires offer less rolling resistance and lower rotational weight compared to clincher tires and are preferred by nearly all professional riders.
SPOKES: The 5.0T uses the RX Bladed Stainless Steel Spoke, which is not only one of the most aerodynamic, but also by far the strongest. All nipples are internally mounted making for a clean and more aerodynamic surface.
BEARINGS: All GRAY wheels come standard with Japanese fully sealed Ezo bearings with steel balls for extremely high roundness accuracy and very low surface roughness, which enables accurate and smooth rolling performance. The inside chase is made from uniformal-hardness ceramic or high carbon chromium steel.
These bearings offer higher performance than standard hybrid ceramic bearings. BRAKING SURFACE: The braking surface is made from Basalt and features a stronger and more durable surface than just clear coated carbon. It is known for it’s heat resistant properties and has a Wear-Thru-Rate of at least 40,000 kilometers.
